Central London
Salary: £75,000 – £85,000 (DOE)
Full-time | 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:30, with a 1-hour break)



An established, employee-owned civil infrastructure consultancy is seeking a talented Associate / Associate Director to lead their Infrastructure team in Central London. With a team of 9 within the civils group and a 30-strong London office, this is an exciting opportunity to take the reins of a close-knit, high-performing group at the heart of a growing business.

Role Overview


As the Highways and Infrastructure Team Lead, you will be responsible for managing and developing the infrastructure team, ensuring successful project delivery, nurturing client relationships, and driving business growth. You’ll combine technical leadership with team mentoring and business development.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians, reporting to the Board.
  • Oversee design and delivery of highways, drainage, and infrastructure projects.
  • Manage projects through all stages: feasibility, design, and construction.
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities, and key stakeholders.
  • Review and produce technical reports, specifications, and costings.
  • Ensure designs meet relevant standards: DMRB, MfS, LTN 1/20, MCHW, SuDS, and local authority guidance.
  • Mentor junior team members and foster professional development.
  • Support business development, including proposals and client engagement.
  • Promote the team externally and represent the company in the wider industry.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Civil Engineering (or similar discipline).
  • Chartered (ICE, CIHT, or equivalent).
  • 8–10+ years’ experience in highways and infrastructure consultancy.
  • Proven track record in work-winning and project delivery.
  • Deep understanding of Section 278 and 38 works for private clients.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Info/MicroDrainage, and GIS tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing teams and mentoring junior staff.
