** Rate:** £59  per hour
** Location:** North East (hybrid working with flexibility)
** Contract:** Short-term cover for sickness absence, with potential for extension

• Deliver vital, out-of-hours crisis interventions that safeguard children and adults in urgent need.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver AMHP assessments under the Mental Health Act and urgent child protection interventions outside usual office hours.
• Respond rapidly to safeguarding crises, making high-stakes decisions autonomously and collaboratively.
• Work closely with partner agencies such as police, health services, and housing to coordinate emergency responses.
• Maintain accurate, timely records in compliance with statutory and local requirements.
• Bring professional guidance and support to colleagues in high-pressure, real-time situations.

About You
You are a resilient and skilled practitioner who:

• Is a Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Holds Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) status or is undergoing AMHP training with supported session involvement.
• Has considerable post-qualifying experience, ideally with both child protection and mental health contexts in statutory social work.
• Is confident working under pressure, able to make autonomous decisions and provide professional leadership in crisis environments.
