Location: North West
Pay rate: £40 per hour
We are looking for experienced and passionate Qualified Social Worker to work in Children in Need, Child Protection Team based in North West. In this role you will be committed to providing an effective child centred service to children in need of support and protection. You will do this by contributing to service strategies, policy and procedures as required. This role offers flexible working with 3 days in the office. You will join one of 5 teams within the service. Each team comprises of 6 SWs and a Family Support Worker. The team covers cases from initial referral all the way through to care proceedings and transfers over to the Cared for Team at initial hearing. As a result of this, each team is part of a day by day duty rota and the expectation is the team are in the office on their duty day.
You’ll be committed to ensure positive and sustainable results of your interventions. Using best practice, you’ll strive to provide the best outcomes for children. Most importantly however, you’ll have a passion for supporting children and their families to ensure that they thrive and flourish. Our priority is to protect the most vulnerable and to be as efficient as possible.
Perfect candidate will be:
- Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
- Experienced in working with children and families including those from vulnerable groups.
- Creative, flexible and forward thinking in approach.
- Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and understanding of child protection issues.
- Constantly striving for continuous improvement to provide the best outcomes for families.
- Able to use excellent mediation and negotiation skills on behalf of service users.
- Highly skilled at building meaningful relationships with clients to engage them in assessments and plans
- Committed to providing our service users with a high-quality service
- Experienced in working in a multi-disciplinary, interagency basis
- 2 Years plus Qualified
- Use skills, knowledge, and experience to make full assessment of risks protection and social care needs.
- Manage an agreed case load.
- Use specialist communication skills to achieve optimum outcomes for service users.
- Devise individual care plans, taking account of diversity and promoting dignity and empowerment.
- Identification of risk and the need for protection. To develop, co-ordinate and deliver multi-agency plans to meet assessed needs and to review these plans to ensure they continue to meet assessed needs.
- Identify unmet needs and gaps in service provision to inform resource allocation and service development
- Engage other professionals, statutory and voluntary agencies in the delivery of services agreed following the assessment of need
- Manage an allocated workload within a team setting
- Comply with the statutory obligations and departmental policing and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up to date records on the Integrated Children’s System (ICS) at all times
- Prepare for and participate in professional supervision sessions and staff meetings and make use of all available training and developmental opportunities
- Contribute to the evaluation and development of services and new ideas by sharing knowledge about theory, skills and practice with other Social Services staff, professional groups and interested bodies
- Provide professional support to newly qualified and less experienced social work staff to enable others to develop their knowledge and skills
