Hostel Cleansing Operative – Caretaking Services
Location: Cardiff (Multiple Hostel Sites)
Contract: 2nd June 2025 – 1st September 2025 (13 Weeks)
Hours: 37 hours/week, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay: £12.21–£15.77/hour + agency support benefits

What You’ll Do:
  • Deliver high-quality cleaning to communal areas and residential flats in Cardiff hostels, ensuring a safe and welcoming space for residents.
  • Follow cleaning procedures, conduct risk assessments, and adhere to health and safety policies to maintain a safe environment for all.
  • Identify and report repairs or issues (e.g., anti-social behaviour, tenancy concerns) to Building Staff and the Hostel Supervisor daily.
  • Communicate with residents and service teams in person or by phone, ensuring customer satisfaction and high-quality work.
  • Support council initiatives by providing clear written updates for management, contributing to equality and safeguarding policies.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow cleaning procedures and maintain high standards in a sensitive environment.
  • Qualities: Reliable, empathetic, and committed to health and safety, with good communication skills for interacting with residents.
  • Experience: Previous cleaning experience is a plus but not required—training to BICSc standards will be provided.
  • Requirements: Ability to travel across Cardiff hostel sites; commitment to equality and safeguarding policies; eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Bonus Points: Experience in a similar role or working with vulnerable groups; Welsh language skills (or willingness to learn basic greetings).
