Junior Damp Surveyor

Position – Damp & Timber Surveyor.

Job Description:
A local damp proofing and timber company are looking for a Junior Damp & Timber Surveyor support prescribe remedial treatments, typically for domestic properties, working on a self-employed basis. You will be visiting residential properties along with some commercial properties assessing the potential cause of damage and looking at potential resolutions.

To be successful in this role, you will -

• Ideally have some experience covering; site visits, production of basic floor plans with site notes detailing issues and recommendations for remedial steps.
• Have a good understanding of damp & timber treatment options relating to structural damp in ground and below ground areas. You will have a good understanding of condensation.
• Have basic computer skills including; email, Microsoft Word and be able to produce digital floor plans. In house training available.
• Be situated in, or close to the London area, have their own reliable transport and be available for travel throughout London and local parts of the Home Counties. Client liaison, good communication skills and a presentable appearance are essential.
• Have your own vehicle and mobile phone. PC, measuring/testing equipment may be provided along with training on our digital drawing package and an initial period of shadowing during site visits.
• Keep your own record of costs associated with travel expenses supplying your receipts to us monthly

The ideal candidate would have one of the below qualifications or equivalent.

Qualifications : 

• Certificated Surveyor for Remedial Treatment (CSRT)
• Certificated Surveyor in Structural Waterproofing (CSSW)
• Certificated Surveyor of Timber & Dampness in Buildings (CSTDB)
• Certificated Surveyor of Dampness in Buildings (CSDB )or Damp Proofing Surveyor equivalent preferable

The company offers

• Self employed contract
• Commission at 7.5% of any job that completes (approx. 1 in 4 is the present ratio).
• Payment on commission weekly on completion of works.
• 40p per mile, plus parking fees (NOT fines),
• Congestion zone fees if required
