Network Recruitment Wales is seeking a dedicated Grants and Monitoring Support Officer to join the Housing and Prevention team in Torfaen for a 26-week temporary role. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to early intervention and prevention programmes, ensuring impactful outcomes for local communities.
About the Role
Based within the Communities and Wellbeing Service Area, you will report to the Contract Lead Officer and play a key role in administering and monitoring grants to support preventative services. This full-time position (37 hours per week) involves working with community groups and internal teams to deliver efficient and effective grant processes, with a focus on early intervention and prevention.Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and administration of grant programmes aligned with early intervention and prevention principles.
- Administer a range of grants, including Third Sector Major Grants, to community groups and organisations.
- Oversee grant assurance, compliance, monitoring, and review activities, ensuring adherence to terms and conditions.
- Collaborate with the Contract Lead Officer to explore innovative approaches to improve grant process efficiency.
- Verify and validate grant applications and performance data, linking to funding outcomes.
- Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders to ensure grants meet community needs.
- Support the establishment of clear targets, performance indicators, and monitoring methods for grant schemes.
- Uphold confidentiality, data protection, health and safety, and safeguarding policies.
- Essential:
- Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to provide a Criminal Convictions Declaration, Confidentiality Agreement, and 2 years of references/work history.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar setting (voluntary, public, or preventative services).
- Knowledge of preventative service provision and grant administration processes.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work with community groups and manage complex workloads.
- Desirable:
- Knowledge of funding bodies, local community assets, or Building Resilient Communities funding streams.
- Experience developing frameworks or policies for grant administration.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject.
- Ability to communicate in Welsh or willingness to learn.
- Competitive Pay: Earn £14.13 per hour (PAYE) or £17.76 per hour (Umbrella).
