What You’ll Do:

  • Perform shrub bed maintenance (e.g., pruning, division) and general soft landscaping (e.g., top-soiling, seeding, shrub-bed renewal).
  • Operate and maintain vehicles, plant, and machinery (e.g., mowers, strimmers), ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and Road Traffic Regulations.
  • Apply chemicals safely and report any defects in tools or equipment to your line manager.
  • Support sports facility maintenance, including setting out and marking pitches, as part of the project.
  • Prioritise safety, taking care of your own and others’ well-being while working outdoors in all weather conditions.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Skills: Strong practical horticulture skills, with experience in grass cutting, landscaping, and using machinery like mowers and strimmers.
  • Qualities: Reliable, punctual, and flexible, with a positive attitude and a willingness to assist colleagues.
  • Experience: NVQ Level 1 in Horticulture (or equivalent) OR at least two years’ proven experience in grounds maintenance; knowledge of plant identification and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Requirements: Full UK driving licence; ability to work 37 hours/week (Monday–Thursday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM); stamina for physical outdoor work in all conditions; availability for occasional overtime; eligibility to work in the UK.
