Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday, hybrid: 4 days office, 1 day home)
Salary: PAYE: £13.17+ per hour | Umbrella: £16.72 per hour

Are you passionate about making a difference for children, young people, and families? NRW People is excited to offer two rewarding temporary TAF Worker roles with Vale of Glamorgan Council, based at 7 Skomer Road in Barry. Starting 3 November 2025, this 24-week position covers a vacancy pending review, offering a chance to support families in a hybrid, community-focused environment.

What You’ll Do:
  • Provide direct support to children, young people, and their families/carers, following Families First guidance and national standards.
  • Conduct assessments of need and risk, facilitate TAF multi-agency meetings, and implement support plans to enhance family well-being.
  • Use motivational techniques to engage families, identify safeguarding concerns, and escalate them per council policies.
  • Maintain accurate records, attend meetings, and contribute to service development, working 4 days in-office and 1 day from home.
What We’re Looking For:
  • A dedicated individual with experience supporting families or children (qualification not required, see Person Specification), and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work full-time (37 hours) in a hybrid setting, with a proactive approach to teamwork and service delivery.
  • Willingness to travel within Barry as needed and reside within a reasonable commuting distance to CF62 9DA.
  • No Social Care Wales registration required—ideal for those eager to grow in social care!
