Graduate Teaching Assistant
 
Do you have a degree and want to gain valuable experience in a primary classroom before pursuing teacher training?

The Role:
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you’ll be working with pupils in Year 5 who require additional support to reach their academic goals. You’ll deliver targeted interventions, assist with classroom activities, and provide one-to-one guidance to help pupils develop their skills in core subjects. Your input will be key in boosting confidence and preparing students for the transition into Year 6.
 
The Candidate:
You should hold a degree in any subject and have a genuine passion for working with children. A supportive attitude, clear communication skills, and the ability to engage pupils are essential. Any previous experience working with young people—particularly in a school or tutoring capacity—will enhance your application.
 
Requirements
• Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
• Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
• Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
• Desire to work in education/with children – A genuine interest in supporting learning and progressing into teaching.
• Experience working with children – Any relevant experience such as tutoring, mentoring, or volunteering is desirable but not essential.
