Job Description
A welcoming special school in South Birmingham is seeking a qualified Maths Teacher to join their team, teaching secondary-aged students with autism and moderate learning needs. This is a wonderful opportunity for a Maths Teacher who is passionate about making learning accessible, meaningful, and enjoyable for students who thrive in smaller settings.
As a Maths Teacher in this school, you will deliver engaging lessons to small groups, helping each student to build confidence and progress at their pace. You will be supported by an experienced Maths Lead, a hands-on Headteacher, and a team of skilled teaching assistants who work collaboratively to ensure pupils feel safe, valued, and well supported. The school offers outstanding facilities and a wealth of resources, allowing you to deliver creative and practical maths lessons that spark curiosity and build resilience.
Job Role:
- Teaching Maths to secondary pupils with autism and moderate learning needs
- Planning and differentiating lessons to meet varied abilities
- Working with a supportive Maths Lead to develop engaging curriculum content
- Using practical resources and hands-on activities to reinforce concepts
- Supporting students with confidence, independence, and problem-solving
- Working alongside experienced teaching assistants to provide personalised support
- Creating a calm and structured classroom environment
