Job Description
A well-resourced and welcoming special school in East Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Primary SEND Teacher to join their team. The school supports primary-aged pupils with a range of complex learning needs including Autism, MLD, communication differences and sensory needs. This role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about nurturing progress, building confidence and helping every child thrive.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that meet the needs of individual learners.
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and wider school staff.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, supporting emotional regulation and communication.
- Create a safe, engaging and structured learning environment.
- Track pupil progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and target setting.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers and external professionals.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching in SEND settings, or a strong desire to transition into SEND.
- Adaptable, nurturing and child-centred teaching approach.
- Understanding of Autism, communication needs and regulation strategies.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
