Job Description
Are you a passionate Music Teacher looking for a rewarding part-time role where you can make a real difference? A warm and supportive special school in Solihull is seeking a dedicated Music Teacher to inspire creativity and self-expression in students with a range of additional learning needs. This part-time position (Mondays and Fridays) offers the chance to join an experienced, caring team in a well-resourced environment.
As a Music Teacher in this setting, you will deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that allow students to explore rhythm, instruments, and performance in a way that supports both their learning and emotional development. You’ll be teaching small classes of pupils who have a range of needs, including Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Communication and Interaction needs.
Job Role:
- Planning and delivering creative, differentiated music lessons for small groups of pupils
- Encouraging participation and confidence through music and performance
- Working collaboratively with teaching assistants to ensure all students can access learning
- Using music as a tool to support communication, confidence, and social development
- Supporting whole-school activities and events that promote creativity and enjoyment
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent
- Experience teaching Music, ideally in a SEND or specialist setting (though not essential)
- A creative and patient approach to teaching
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- A genuine passion for using music to enhance learning and wellbeing
