Occupational Therapist – Paediatrics
Location: Islington
Hourly Rate: £32.02 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary
Working Pattern: Hybrid working

Pertemps are recruiting for an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join the Social Care team in Islington. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in housing-related adaptations and supporting children and families to live safely and independently at home.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Complete Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) assessments and make recommendations for major adaptations.
  • Carry out home safety and equipment assessments to promote independence and safety for children and families.
  • Triaging referrals and prioritising cases based on clinical need and risk.
  • Prepare rehousing and adaptation reports to support housing applications and long-term planning.
  • Work collaboratively with families, social workers, and housing officers to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Previous experience working within paediatric social care, ideally with DFG and major adaptations.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance related to housing, adaptations, and equipment provision.
  • Excellent communication and assessment skills.
