Social Worker – Specialist Adolescent Service Hertfordshire
💰 £39 per hour 
📍 Hybrid Working – 3 days in office / 2 days WFH
🚗 Must be a car driver

Pertemps are proud to be working on behalf of Hertfordshire County Council, recruiting an experienced Social Worker to join their Specialist Adolescent Service (SASH) in the East.
This team supports young people through complex challenges, helping them achieve positive outcomes and reduce risks within a contextual safeguarding framework. The role focuses on intensive intervention and early prevention, ensuring only the right young people become looked after.

About the Role As part of the Specialist Adolescent Service, you’ll work with young people and families facing:
  • Child Sexual and Child Criminal Exploitation
  • Homelessness
  • Family Breakdown (preventing young people entering care)
  • Missing from Home concerns
  • Risk of Radicalisation
  • Rehabilitation following a period in care
  • Young People in or at risk of entering the Criminal Justice System
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Undertaking structured assessments and delivering intensive support to children and young people with complex needs.
  • Managing a case load requiring social care or youth justice interventions.
  • Delivering targeted interventions and maintaining outcome-focused plans.
  • Preparing reports for courts, youth offender panels, and partner agencies.
  • Conducting interviews with young people missing from care or education.
  • Maintaining accurate case management records within statutory deadlines.
  • Working collaboratively within a multi-agency team, contributing to service development and research.
  • Undertaking evening or weekend work when necessary to meet the needs of young people.
Requirements
✅ Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
✅ Experience of Section 17 and Section 47 processes
✅ Proven background working with adolescents and complex safeguarding cases
✅ Strong assessment, communication, and report-writing skills
✅ Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-agency team
