SEN Planning & Review Officer – Dorset Council
£214.13 per day

Pertemps are supporting Dorset Council in their search for an experienced SEN Planning & Review Officer to join their SEND service.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by ensuring children and young people with special educational needs receive high-quality, timely, and effective support through the EHCP process.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and professionals to ensure high-quality EHCPs are produced and reviewed effectively.
  • Attend and chair panels and complex case meetings related to statutory SEN processes.
  • Manage and respond to complaints, appeals, and tribunal cases, liaising with Legal Services as needed.
  • Lead or contribute to special projects and business strategies supporting the wider SEND service.
  • Provide guidance, training, and expertise to colleagues within the SEN Team.
  • Maintain meticulous electronic records and ensure timely processing of EHCP assessments and reviews.
  • Collaborate with Educational Psychologists, SEND Leads, and other partners to ensure complex cases are managed effectively.
  • Champion positive outcomes for children and young people, promoting inclusion and high standards across the service.
💡 About You:
  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and the EHCP process.
  • Experience within a local authority SEN team or similar environment.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads and engage effectively with families, schools, and external agencies.
