Job Title: Case Worker – Occupational Therapist
Location: Westminster, London
Rate: £32.50 per hour 
Contract Type: Temporary
Working Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm
Working Arrangement: Office-based with community visits

About the Role:
Pertemps Social Care is currently recruiting for a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic team in Westminster. This is a hands-on role requiring strong clinical reasoning, excellent case management, and the ability to support complex clients through the adaptation process.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of complex clients with diverse physical, cognitive, and environmental needs
  • Carry out in-depth home visits and manual handling assessments
  • Prescribe and oversee major adaptations including stairlifts, level access showers, ramps, and through-floor lifts
  • Work closely with housing and DFG teams, contractors, surveyors, and housing officers
  • Provide detailed clinical justifications for equipment and structural changes
  • Support timely hospital discharges and contribute to hospital avoidance strategies
  • Maintain thorough documentation for safeguarding reports, legal panels, and funding decisions
  • Offer supervision and guidance to junior staff
  • Act as a main point of contact for service users, delivering advice and advocacy throughout the adaptation process
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure cohesive, person-centred service delivery
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Excellent communication skills, especially when discussing complex or technical matters
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities
  • Proactive and accountable, with a solution-focused mindset
  • Confident in manual handling planning and equipment specification
  • Comfortable working in local authority settings with vulnerable adults
Qualifications:
  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC Registration
  • Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain one prior to start)
  • Demonstrable experience working with minor and major adaptations, equipment provision, and relevant legislation
