Job Description

We are looking for a Systems Optimisation Analyst to work in conjunction with the System Optimisation Engineer to manage access to the clean water system.

You will contribute to developing and implementing a sustainable, longer-term strategy to run a calm network within regulatory requirements, with high-level reporting availability.

Primarily, the role is to support and provide information to the System Optimisation Engineer, and in addition, work alongside the Leakage, Network and Production teams.
You will also be required to provide support during unplanned emergency events.

What you will be doing as a Systems Optimisation Analyst

  • Support the System Engineer in facilitating engineering and customer-led projects.
  • Support the System Engineer in the management of unplanned emergency events with a view to mitigating against adverse effects to the customer, Supply Interruptions (SI4/SI12), water quality, brand image and levels of compensation paid to the customer due to disruption via the Customer Guarantee Scheme (CGS).
  • Support the System Engineer and Risk Analysts in the timely completion of risk assessments required for the work impacting the clean water network, for example, the repair of leaks, the operation of assets on the network, installation/replacement of fire hydrants and other rechargeable work.
  • Evaluate and analyse operational information, understanding data integrity difficulties, to resolve basic problems.
To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need are:
  • The successful candidate should have an awareness of hydraulic principles and some transferable skills relevant to the water industry.
  • An understanding of GIS mapping software and familiarity with data handling would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills are needed, and confidence when negotiating with internal stakeholders in this post.
  • It is essential that the candidate is organised, pragmatic and possesses a good analytical and problem-solving mentality.
What’s in it for you?
  • Offering a salary up to £40,000 depending on skills and experience.
  • Annual Leave: 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service. (Plus bank holidays).
  • Performance-related pay plan directly linked to company performance measures and targets.
  • Generous Pension Scheme through AON.
  • Generous Paternity Leave, including 4 weeks paid and an optional 2 weeks unpaid.
  • Enhanced Maternity Leave, 26 weeks full pay and 13 weeks half pay!
  • Wider benefits scheme including our benefits hub, which is packed full of offers and information to save you money and support your wellbeing.
