Job Description

This is an exciting new role where you will be responsible for assessing that all maintenance activities, processes, and systems meet the required standards of quality and performance.

The role involves promoting the maintenance strategy, inspecting and verifying maintenance work, systems and processes.  Ensuring compliance with requirements and continuously identifying activities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance practices across the organisation.  Developing a reporting dashboard to allow the business to monitor the performance of maintenance delivery.

What you’ll be doing as a Maintenance Assurance Engineer
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure that maintenance activities are assessed for efficiency and in compliance with company standards.
  • Perform regular inspections and audits of maintenance activities to verify compliance with quality requirements and maintenance strategy.
  • Ensure that work is completed according to specifications, with all necessary documentation completed accurately and promptly.
  • Ensure that maintenance plans (preventive, corrective, and predictive) are in place and followed for assets and systems.
  • Review supporting systems and processes for compliance, correctness and appropriateness (Criticality, MDV, Asset register processes)
  • Identify opportunities for process optimisation, cost reduction, and quality improvements in maintenance practices.
  • Collect and analyse data related to maintenance activities.
  • Provide regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) for maintenance and compliance levels.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders (e.g., operations managers, production teams) regarding the assurance process and findings.

Base Location: Hybrid - Clearwater Court - RG1 8DB, but can be flexible depending on the location of the successful candidate.
Basic Hours: 36 hours - Monday to Friday.
 
What you should bring to the role
  • Proven experience in a maintenance engineering or assurance role, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial, or operational environment
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems (e.g., CMMS, SAP) and asset management tools.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and technical understanding, with the ability to effectively facilitate technical review groups
  • Confident in interpreting and understanding complex technical documents and making decisions
  • Qualification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering principles and practices (or equivalent work experience). HNC or equivalent level.
  • Experience in auditing and assessing maintenance activities to ensure compliance with quality and operational standards.
  • Knowledge of asset management (ISO55000) and/or quality management (ISO9001) systems.
  • Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance procedures, including equipment troubleshooting and failure analysis.
