Job Description
You will play an active part in supporting a department/team at the start of a new regulatory period. This exciting opportunity will enable the successful applicant to support a highly-varied, high-profile operational business unit with a number of senior internal stakeholders.
What you’ll be doing as a Finance Analyst
- Support the budgeting and formal forecast cycles, including rolling forecast and IBP (long-term business plan).
- Creating high-quality reports, analysis and commentary on performance to assist decision making.
- Own and manage wider relationships to understand and communicate drivers of month-end performance and forward-looking view to support the achievement of targets.
- Understanding the P&L and providing insights on risks and opportunities.
- Provide inputs into key finance initiatives and support with ad-hoc queries.
- Work closely with wider finance teams to ensure clarity of performance drivers and all requirements for forecast and budget are met.
Base location: Reading - Hybrid
Working pattern: 36 Hours
What you should bring to the role
- Qualified accountant (preferably), or qualified by experience
- Extensive experience in FP&A function with a proven track record in 'adding value
- System experience with SAP and HFM is preferable
- Significant communications experience - presenting financial analysis to senior management
- Strong analytical, Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong attention to detail whilst being able to see the broader picture
- Proactive and ambitious - sets high goals for self and continuously strives to improve
- Able to multi-task and prioritise own work effectively
