Sheridan Maine is proud to be working with an esteemed organisation based in the heart of Bath to recruit a Finance Assistant Team Leader. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional seeking a leadership role within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
 
About the Role
As the Finance Assistant Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a dedicated team of finance assistants, ensuring financial processes are followed accurately and deadlines are met. You will play a key part in supporting project-related financial activities, reporting, and month-end responsibilities.
 
Responsibilities of the Finance Assistant Team Leader will include:
  • Manage the daily workload and performance of a team of Finance Assistants.
  • Oversee and produce accurate invoicing for a range of ongoing projects.
  • Maintain and perform housekeeping tasks within the project planning and finance systems.
  • Prepare month-end accruals and prepayments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Take ownership of cost reports for various disciplines within the organisation.
  • Provide up-to-date Work In Progress (WIP) balances to Project Directors.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.
  • Support the wider finance team with ad-hoc duties and projects as required.
 
To be considered for the role of Finance Assistant Team Leader, you will:
  • Have previous experience in a team leader role.
  • Possess strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Be able to meet deadlines and priorities workload.
  • Be a good communicator and comfortable interacting with non-finance stakeholders.
