Location: Edinburgh South
Rate of pay: £13.79 per hour rising to £14.18 as of week 13
Hours of Work: Tuesday to Friday 06.00-16.45 (45 min break)
Duration: Temporary Ongoing

As a weed removal operative, your work will be vital to keeping Edinburgh's streets and pavements clear and well maintained. This is a physically demanding role that requires persistence, strength, and a willingness to work outdoors in all conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Remove weeds from streets, pavements, and public areas using manual tools and equipment provided.
• Carry out heavy lifting, bending, kneeling, and repetitive hand movements throughout the shift.
• Safely collect and dispose of waste materials from weed removal.
• Work as part of a team to ensure all areas meet high cleanliness standards.

What to expect:

• Physical demands: The role involves heavy lifting and continuous use of hands and lower back. You must be prepared for physically strenuous work.
• Outdoor working in all weather conditions.
• PPE, full induction, and training will be provided.
