Job Description

The client is an established and growing manufacturer of panel-based furniture for various sectors such as hospitality, retail, point of sale, exhibitions etc.

They are seeking to recruit a skilled Wood CNC Programmer to join their friendly, modern production facility in Evesham.

Hours of work are typically 7.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am to 3pm on a Friday.

The main responsibility of the CNC Machinist role is to be responsible for programming and operating CNC machines used to cut, shape, and finish wood products according to drawings and specifications. The role is essential for ensuring high-quality, efficient and accurate manufacturing of wood components and custom furniture pieces.

Responsibilities and duties are as follows;
  • Programming, setting and operation of CNC woodworking machinery using Maestro software.
  • Interpret technical drawings and design models for programming CNC machinery.
  • Set up and operate CNC routers, mills, beam saws and other woodworking machinery.
  • Select appropriate tools, speeds, and feeds for various wood types and projects.
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust programs to improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Maintain and inspect equipment, ensuring tools and machines are in proper working order.
  • Perform quality control checks on finished products to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and comply with all safety regulations.

Experience and qualifications for the role are as follows;
  • Proven experience programming and operating CNC machinery in a woodworking or cabinetry environment.
  • Proficient in Maestro software.
  • Strong understanding of woodworking materials and equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to read technical drawings.
  • Strong problem solving and a "can do" attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The company are based in Evesham so would be commutable from Worcester, Stratford upon Avon, Alcester.
