Hire Controller

Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Hire Controller to join our client’s busy equipment hire business based in Newark-on-Trent.
This is a full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity offering an hourly rate of £12.21 per hour, with a permanent salary of £27,000 once you join the company directly.

You’ll play a key role in supporting customers, managing orders, and ensuring a smooth and efficient hire process from start to finish. If you’re an organised, confident communicator who enjoys providing excellent service in a fast-paced environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
 
What will I be expected to do as a Hire Controller?

• Answer incoming calls and respond to customer enquiries promptly and professionally
• Input and update customer and order information accurately on the CRM system
• Manage hire orders from initial enquiry through to completion and post-hire feedback
• Build strong relationships with customers and internal teams
• Provide product information and advice, helping customers find the right solutions for their needs
• Support sales opportunities by identifying additional products or services
• Handle administrative duties including quotations, confirmations, and scheduling

 
What skills and experience do I need?

• Proven experience in a Customer Service or Sales Support role
• Previous experience in the hire or construction industry is desirable but not essential
• Strong communication skills – confident, professional, and approachable
• Ability to multitask and stay organised in a fast-paced environment
• A proactive attitude with good problem-solving skills
• Team player who enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues
• Comfortable using computer systems, Microsoft Office, and learning new software
• Enthusiastic and customer-focused, with a genuine desire to provide the best possible service

 
What hours will I be working?
Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 17:00
Friday: 07:30 – 16:00
(Full-time, 42 hours per week)
 
What will I be paid?

• £12.21 per hour (temporary period)
• £27,000 per year once permanent
