Social Worker – Assessment

Location: Haverfordwest
Start Date (Target): 11/08/2025
Contract Duration: 24 weeks
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
Pay: £30.14 per hour

About the Role:

Pembrokeshire County Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Social Worker to join the Assessment Team based in Haverfordwest. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to vital frontline services and support positive outcomes for individuals and families across the county.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake comprehensive assessments of individuals and families in need
• Develop, review, and implement care and support plans in line with legislation and best practice
• Work collaboratively with multi-agency teams to safeguard and promote wellbeing
• Maintain accurate and timely case records and documentation
• Ensure all work is compliant with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures

Essential Requirements:

• Registered with Social Care Wales
• Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance
• 5 years of referenceable employment/work history
• Strong assessment and case management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage complex caseloads
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
