Role Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced CAD Operator to produce accurate and detailed technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in various projects, translating design concepts and specifications into precise visual representations. Proven, demonstrable experience in the field is an essential requirement for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, modify, and update 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models from initial concepts, sketches, and specifications.
- Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, project managers, and other team members to understand project requirements and design intent.
- Review and verify drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to design specifications before submission.
- Manage and organise drawing files and project documentation efficiently.
- Identify and resolve design conflicts or discrepancies, escalating complex issues when necessary.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of CAD software advancements and best practices.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals and presentations as required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the design department.
Required Skills & Experience
- MUST HAVE demonstrable, extensive experience as a CAD
- Operator in a relevant industry/field. (e.g., engineering, architecture, manufacturing, construction, etc.)
- Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, ???SolidWorks, Revit, Inventor, MicroStation – specific software preference may vary by client's needs, please specify if applicable).
- Strong understanding of drafting principles, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and technical drawing conventions.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively to meet project deadlines.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with 3D modelling and rendering.
- Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) principles (if relevant to the client's industry).
- Familiarity with data management systems for drawings.
- Relevant vocational qualifications or certifications in CAD.
