Pertemps Wolverhampton is proud to be working with a leading engineering company that specialises in high-performance chrome surface finishing. We are currently recruiting a hands-on and reliable Plating Operative to join their skilled team.

 

About the Role:As a Plating Operative, you’ll be involved in the full chrome-plating process using the client’s advanced proprietary method. This includes sandblasting - cabinet work , chemical dipping, and manual surface preparation to ensure the highest standard of coating. All specialist PPE will be provided.

This is a physical and detail-focused role, involving manual labour, machine operation, and accurate paperwork/data entry to track work completed.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor machines for the chrome coating process.
  
  
• Carry out sandblasting, dipping, and surface preparation.
  
  
• Mix and handle chemical solutions safely and accurately.
  
  
• Inspect and test coated parts for quality and consistency.
  
  
• Complete paperwork and records for each stage of the process.
  
  
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.
  
  

Requirements:

• Previous experience in plating, metal finishing, or a similar production role.
  
  
• Comfortable with physical work and handling tools/machinery.
  
  
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow strict procedures.
  
  
• Awareness of health and safety in an industrial setting.
  
  
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  
  
• Willing to learn the client’s unique coating system.
