Location: St Helens (WA9) - 100% Office Based
Contract: Permanent - Full time
Salary: £50K - £55K (DOE)

Company/Job Role
Our client is a well establishes UK leading engineering company, specialising the design, manufacture and installation of electrical systems for the power plant and processing/industrial industries.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to oversee projects on nuclear, construction and other power systems projects, to ensure they are all with budgets and timeframes etc.

As the Project Manager your duties will be to:
  • Developing comprehensive project plans for each project, including scope, timeline, budget, and resource allocation.
  • Conduct and complete on-site surveys to ensure clients expectations both in terms of specification, timescales and costs are achievable prior to project commencement.
  • Support the operations team in carrying out progress meeting to ensure delivery.
  • Collaborate with Design and Production teams.
  • Continued monitoring of project costs during the project lifecycle (including labour, plant, materials, and sub-contractors) and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints through to handover.
  • Negotiate contracts and orders with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Review and approve subcontractor and supplier invoices and variations to orders if changes occur.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure work is completed to industry standards and client specifications.
  • Conduct regular onsite inspections and audits to verify compliance.
  • Ensuring O&M Manuals are completed on time, at handover and in line with GKW specifications.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, attending pre-contract meetings and providing regular face to face and email updates regarding project progress.
  • Address client concerns quickly and thoroughly and maintain strong customer relationships.

The successful Project Manager you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Ideally hold a qualification within Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
  • Solid experience working experience within a Project Management position.
  • Proficient/skilled in understanding of electrical systems and drawings.
  • Familiar with industry codes and standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - ability to serve as a main point of contact with clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask.

You will be expected to attend site, including meetings, visits, maintenance and installation jobs when required, across the UK.
